Thank you. It's nice to be here tonight.

Jeff Adams:
So Allen, tell my listeners how you got started in real estate.

Alan Cowgill:
Yeah, sure. Well, what happened was I was – about a decade ago I was – I was broke and I was out there in the corporate world climbing the corporate ladder and after while I figured out that I had the ladder against the wrong wall and I wanted to change my life.

Jeff Adams:
Okay.

Alan Cowgill:
And I'd heard that thing to where 92 percent of the population retire at poverty level after working a J-O-B all their life, and I was living in this old, little two-bedroom apartment, I had this old car, and to kind of give you some idea, Jeff, how broke I was I couldn't even afford to get this car repaired, and one day I had a date and it was a first date, and when I took her home and was walking her to the door, my car burst into flames.

Jeff Adams:
Oh, man.

Alan Cowgill:
And –

Jeff Adams:
Did you call the fire department up?

Alan Cowgill:
Yeah. Yeah, burnt it up, left a big chunk or charred metal out in her parking lot.

Jeff Adams:
Okay.

Alan Cowgill:
And, you know, I just realized that my life wasn't heading in the right direction. And I – so what I did was I got my federal tax return back and I went out and I spent my whole federal tax return on lottery tickets.

Jeff Adams:
Okay.
